    Who Can Remove a CM?

Does anyone know where this thread is? I can't find it... but I get so many error messages I wonder if it's just me.

  • Lol, Frank, that's a lot of posts. He (COR) made the decision alone, and notified the CM (of 3 years) a few days before our bridging ceremony. He did say "that was always the plan", we think he probably assumed the CM was stepping down and therefore looked for a replacement, but there was a massive communication fail and no one (except the replacement and the COR) knew what was coming. I'm not sure why you mentioned an injury etc.? The old CM (the one that was removed) is still in the Pack now as a DL , and is also on the Troop Committee. He hasn't had any problems and is generally well-liked... he and the COR still have a good working relationship although a little marred by the way it happened (suddenly and unexpectedly).

I always wanted to do a big, really big, grid drawing. And we did... we drew a US map on a basketball court... about 10 Cubs, 2 1/2 hours. Epic. Failed at an attempt to do Space Derby, Succeeded at leading Bears in building a Cubmobile... I would love to do a leaders' Thriller dance as a surprise at maybe our October Pack meeting. Also would love to use Cubs to make some sort of pic from above, like a fleur de lis or something to be photographed from the air!

around 120 last I heard. they are successful, I've been to a couple of their Pack meetings, great fun. I don't really know the nuts and bolts of it though.

  • Agree completely! You must have been so proud of your Scout for giving back the badge. I've had this happen twice (not my sons) and it is a heartwarming moment. One was a boy who seems to be growing out of being a serious troublemaker and gave back a summer camp award he had not completed, and the other was a Webelos in my Den who *tried* to give back an activity badge because he thought he had not finished it. We actually had to sit down and go over everything we had done to prove it to him. I wish more Scouts (and parents) had this attitude!

they are crossing to the next rank... it's just fun for them. Ask the boys. In my Pack, all the boys cross the bridge from one rank to the next. A Pack near us has the younger ranks cross their little homemade Pack bridge, and the Webelos cross into Boy Scouts on the Burnside Bridge in Antietam. Even boys who are not joining Boy Scouts cross the little bridge... they are crossing out of Cub Scouts.
